Job Overview: Vivekananda Central School is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our team of educators. The English Teacher will be responsible for inspiring and educating students in the English language, literature, and communication skills. The ideal candidate should have a strong command of the English language, a love for literature, and a commitment to fostering excellent communication skills in students.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Planning and Instruction:
   • Develop and deliver comprehensive, engaging, and effective English language and literature lessons that align with curriculum guidelines and school standards.
   • Foster a deep appreciation for English language and literature through creative teaching methods and literary analysis.
2. Language Proficiency:
   • Promote proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills among students.
   • Encourage critical thinking and analysis of various forms of written and spoken communication.
3. Literature Exploration:
   • Introduce students to a wide range of literary works, including classics, contemporary literature, and poetry, and facilitate discussions and analysis.
   • Organize and participate in literary clubs, reading groups, and other extracurricular activities related to English language and literature.
4. Assessment and Evaluation:
   • Develop and administer assessments and examinations to gauge students’ comprehension, language proficiency, and progress.
   • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents, and implement strategies for improvement.
5. Classroom Management:
   • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, respect, and diversity.
   • Maintain discipline and ensure a conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning.
6. Professional Development:
   • Stay updated on the latest trends in English language teaching, educational technology, and pedagogical methodologies.
   • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the English department.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, English Education, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
• Teaching certification or qualification from a recognized institution.
• Previous teaching experience in English language and literature, preferably in a similar educational setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a passion for the English language and literature.
• Enthusiasm for teaching and the ability to inspire students to excel in English.
